Soto 30 is World Class Racing in a 30 footer
Created by OnePlusYou
The Soto 30 (or 9.1 metres) brings a new brand to the 30 foot genre. There have been some great racing one design footers in the past but there's
a whole new generation of sailors now who want simple, fast sailing without 7 or 8 cowboys camped on the gunwale to keep the boat upright.
Wouldn't it be great to have a faster, more contemporary yacht that could be sailed by all sorts of keen sailors? And at the right price too?
The new Soto 30 has two key aims - to go fast and have fun. Expect a few innovations, an enormous working cockpit, excellent crew ergonomics,
a lifting keel and a very stable racing platform. Carbon in places you really need it, excellent sailing systems, elegant and modern foils - a yacht
conceived and designed for the second decade of the 21st century. Like the 40, the yacht is designed without concessions to any handicap rules.
In general the design and specification will be a little less 'full-on' than the Soto 40 to have appeal to a wider range of racing sailors - from the Club
level all the way to serious one design racer. But we will still see the same leading brands to provide the best value and reliability proven on the the
Probably the biggest surprise will be the price! All the details announced soon - the countdown is on.
The new design will be released in two parts. The first drawings and specification will be launched on February 23. The final renderings, polars,
VPPs, price and final details will be released a month later along with the first pictures of the yacht under construction.
UPDATE: Three Soto 30s pre-sold and will be sailing at the Hamilton island Race Week in August 2011. Want to join in?
