Groupama 70 goes out
First images of Franck Cammas’ VOR 70
Ericsson 4 has new colors. The swedish VOR 70 has came out of the Groupama base in Lorient, Brittany, France. Green, orange and white, she has the same look than the giant trimaran Franck Cammas is sailing around the world. Named Groupama 70, she will be the training boat for the french team in their bid for the next Volvo Ocean Race.
When Franck Cammas is racing around the world on his 31.50 meters long trimaran to beat the Jules Verne Trophy, his shore team is preparing to launch his first VOR 70. “She is named Groupama 70” said today Yann Riou. “Groupama 4 will be the name of the next one, the new one.”
When Cammas and his crew will be back in France after their non stop round the world voyage, they will put the giant trimaran to the shipyard. The multihull well be prepared for to solo transatlantic, the Route du Rhum. And he will have time to sail the 70s. No time to loose for the french team...
