Pendragon VI
69 foot of pure adrenalin in carbon fibre
The biggey on the workshop floor for the past few months has been the 69 ft (21m) Grand Prix Racer Pendragon VI for a Californian yachtsman.This is the second serious race boat that Franklin's have built for him, the first being the 52 foot PHRF Davidson designed Pendragon IV built some 9 years ago.
Pendragon VI is built entirely in carbon fibre pre-preg and cured in the new 28 metre oven that Franklin's built to handle the job.The interior ends are finished in high gloss over the carbon fibre while the centre area is a paint finish with American maple trim and red upholstery.She will sport a Southern Spars rig with North Sails, a lifting keel, and a 75hp Volvo Penta auxiliary with a retractable drive
